Aaaah, an idea that was long overdue!

For the first time ever, a beginner hockey team was formed two winters ago from members of Coach Chic's Learn-to-play program.  Since that time, tons of young players have been given an awesome introduction to the game of hockey (they've become comfortable on a team bench and lining-up for face-offs, they've gained an understanding of hockey's basic rules, and so much more).

Each year since, Coach Chic has selected a new team (usually in early October) from his "Learn-to-play" group.  Members practice during their regular Sunday morning sessions, and more recently have played their games on Saturday mornings at Bridgewater Ice Arena, in its newly formed Mighty Mite League.

To be eligible, potential players must:
  1. be 8-years old or younger
  2. be enrolled in the Learn-to Program
  3. express interest as soon as possible
  4. attend a (possible) TBA "tryout" session
  5. submit a (free) USA Hockey registration form
Obviously, we fill this team rather quickly, on a first come, first served basis

The games will primarily be played on Saturday mornings at Bridgewater ice Arena. Through most of the fall and winter, there will be no icing or off-sides, etc. (Players will, however, gradually learn the game's rules and other niceties, so that they're ready to tryout for more competitive teams at a later time.) In other words, our games will be all action and a ton of fun for little ones, a ton of laughs for us grown-ups! 

We may play some outside exhibitions, as well as once again play between periods of a Providence Bruins game (a real treat for all.  (That also includes a number of neat PBruins gifts.)
